The North American Aviation P-51 Mustang is an American long-range, single-seat fighter and fighter-bomber used during World War II and the Korean War, among other conflicts.

During World War II the Tuskegee Airmen - trained at the Tuskegee Army Airfield in Alabama - flew more than 15,000 individual sorties in Europe and North Africa, where they earned the enduring nickname of the “Red Tail Angels” or “Red Tails” because of the distinctive red paint used on the tails of their fighter aircraft. Their impressive performance earned them more than 150 Distinguished Flying Crosses. The P-51D Mustang “Duchess Arlene” was flown in 1945 by Tuskegee Airman, Lt. Robert Williams. He flew 50 combat missions from Italy with the 100th Fighter Squadron.

Metal Earth Premium Series models are larger in scale with greater detail. Parts are cut from one or more 8-inch by 4.3-inch high-quality steel sheets. Easy to follow instructions are included with each kit and no glue or solder is required. Simply snip out the pieces and bend the tabs through corresponding connection points. Metal Earth Premium Series - bigger, more details, more fun!

The Tuskegee Airmen P-510 Mustang Premium Series metal modelling kit includes 2 metal sheets containing components of the aircraft. Parts can be removed from the metal sheet by hand, however a pair of wire cutters is recommended. In assembling the 3D model, tweezers make an ideal tool for bending and twisting connection tabs.
