The Kawasaki GPz900R , the earliest member of the Ninja family of sportbikes, was manufactured by Kawasaki from 1984-2003. Also known as the ZX900A or Ninja 900, it was developed in secret over a 6 year period and when released in 1984 was the cutting edge of performance with its 16-valve liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder motorcycle engine. The 908 cc four-cylinder engine delivered 115bhp (86kW) allowing the bike to reach speeds of 151mph (243 km/h) making it the first stock road bike to exceed 150mph (240km/h).

The Kawasake GPz900R Premium Series metal modelling kit includes 2 metal sheets containing components of the motorcycle. Parts can be removed from the metal sheet by hand, however, a pair of wire cutters is recommended. In assembling the 3D model, tweezers make an ideal tool for bending and twisting connection tabs.
